    Posted in: Figures - Japanese

Another figure I bought in Japan.  I regret not buying the whole Kotobukiya’s Galaxy Angel set, and I regret a lot of other stuff too.  I only bought Vanilla H. just because she holds Normad.   I want a Normad plushie now.

The figure is 1/8 scale, and because it is in a sitting pose, it is small figure.  To think Goodsmile’s Tessa is my smallest figure, Vanilla H is now my smallest scaled figure.

It comes with a nice base with some patterns.  This is a lot better than the plain base offered with Tessa.

Let’s start with the sculpt.  Vanilla H. has a lot of seam lines, but nothing major from the naked eye.

However, huge seam lines run across Normad.  I don’t know if this is just Kotobukiya’s medicore production, or to create a stuffed animal look.

The mold from the frills is messy with stubs sticking out.  The frills from Kotobukiya’s Flonne definitely looks better.  But then, that was released later, so I guess you can say that Kotobukiya improved.

The details on Normad really gives the expression that it is soft.  This comes from Vanilla H. clasping on Normad, which makes it look as if Normad is being stretched.  The details for this makes me really want to grab something soft.  Perhaps my man boobs.

The paint job is nothing impressive for the finer details of the figure.  Lines run off  from her cuffs.  Paint overlays each other on her shoulder.

Overall, ignoring these flaws aside, the figure is not bad.  You won’t notice most of these flaws with your naked eye.  The representation of Vanilla H. looks spot on.   The figure really expresses her personality, being the calm and quiet member of Moon Angel Troupe.

This is the first time I used purple background.  I like it a lot.

I support your endeavour to grab your man-boobs.

I second the motion Louise started.

you mean that normad thing ISN’T a real plushie? I swear that level of detail is amazing… I get the exact same urge, maybe I’ll go grab my thunder thighs instead since I sadly lack any man boobs of my own.

I ‘third’ the motion Louise stated. :p

Last few weeks I stumbled upon a blogger where he is selling off his Galaxy Angel set. Maybe you wanna take a look at that.

@ah few, Louise, enrius: Too bad, I don’t have man boobs.

@enrius: I noticed that too, but it is too much. I regret not buying in Japan. I could have gotten each figure from 2000-3000 yen.
