Funny how at the beginning of my vacation I underestimated the number of clothes I should have brought on my vacation.   For a 10 day trip in Japan, I had to wash my clothes 2 times.   And then for this mini-trip in China, I again didn’t bring enough clothes, plus a pair of shoes.   It was definitely a pain in the ass to wash my clothes every 3-4 days.   Luckily Chengdu was the last city before heading back to ShenZhen.

The first day we arrived to Chengdu, it started pouring.  We went to the shopping district.  This reminds me of my experience in Ginza with the rain.  However, I learned from my mistake.   I wore sandals instead of shoes.

Across from my hotel is Jinli Street.  This is a very old street known for its traditional looks.

It is very lively here in the evenings.

To think I wouldn’t meet anyone after Taiwan, it was definitely cool to meet new people in China.   Learned a lot of the different lifestyles from different countries and regions of those countries.

I am been on the bus in Chengdu a lot of times, and every stop they have this message.  Took me a couple times to understand that this was English!  After hearing this for countless times I was able to understand most of the message.  If you can understand it word for word, please let me know!  I still can’t figure out a word or two.

Went back to the shopping district.  This place is CROWDED.   Ate some awesome, but expensive doughnuts.   Haven’t ate doughnuts for a long time except the crap I ate at Dunkin Donuts in Taiwan.  It was pretty nasty as all my doughnuts ended up with only one bite.

After the shopping district, we went to a small aquarium.

It was alright.  But Ocean Park in Hong Kong is A LOT better, which I will post up soon.

Chengdu actually has a lot of sights, but I was already getting bored.   If you want to see pandas then Chengdu is the place to go.  The most tiring parts of this minitrip in China are the train and bus rides to each city.    It was definitely a nonstop adventure.
