    Kotobukiya - Sera-chan

    January 19, 2010 // 2 Comments »

Finally, another figure review!  I bought this figure from my visit to Hong Kong.

Here up is a figure designed by Shunya Yamashita and sculpted by Reflect.  Both are amazing artists and I can’t decide which style I like more, Shunya’s or Reflect’s.  Nonetheless, their designs are all about the eyes.  While Reflect has a sexy look, Shunya has a mixture of sexy and cute in his illustrations.

Alpha/Vice - Motoko Kusanagi & Sega EX - Motoko Kusanagi

    December 13, 2009 // No Comments »

It has been quite some time since my last post and my last photoshoot.   I have been busy recently with work and studies.

I had a photoshoot of Alpha 1/7 Motoko Kusanagi in my old blog, but I decided to take a new one because the old photoshoot didn’t turn out as well as I hoped.  In addition, this review will contain an additional figure of Motoko that I acquired in Taipei, one of many, and one of the few better in terms of representation, Sega’s prize figures of Motoko.

    Kotobukiya - Vanilla H.

    November 10, 2009 // 4 Comments »

Another figure I bought in Japan.  I regret not buying the whole Kotobukiya’s Galaxy Angel set, and I regret a lot of other stuff too.  I only bought Vanilla H. just because she holds Normad.   I want a Normad plushie now.

    Kotobukiya - Flonne

    November 2, 2009 // 1 Comment »

It has been quite awhile since my last photoshoot.  I am going to start off with the cheapest PVC figure that I bought during my vacation, Kotobukiya’s Flonne.

The price I paid for this figure in Japan, 1000 yen.  However, it was second hand, then again, 1000yen (~$12CDN)!  Surprisingly I was hesitant and decided to think about it overnight.  You are hearing this from a guy who constantly blew out 2000yen for a single trip to a maid cafe.  What can you get for $12 here in Canada?  1 trading figure…  Wait, perhaps not because of tax.  Oh how I miss the days in Asia with no tax and tips.

    Finallyyyy!

This package arrived to my house extremely fast.  I used SAL and from the other side of the world, it only took 5 days.  Usually it takes about 2 weeks for SAL.  My package arrived a couple weeks late because I paid for my item by paypal and they had it on hold for inspection.  Then after 2 weeks, I called paypal and they cleared it immediately.

Just as I expected, the box is huge.  The item was labeled as “resin kit” with a declared value of $20.  LOL. Then this is one HUGE kit.

GoodSmile Co. - Nagi - Nendoroid

Damn, I hate sympatico.  For the past two days, I couldn’t even go on the internet.  It was so slow.  Takes forever to load anything.

I had to preorder this figure for one reason only.  The reason is her surprised face.  It is too funny and cute >_<  I also like Nagi, she reminds me of one of my friends.

    Kotobukiya - Mirei-san

    June 1, 2009 // 1 Comment »

While transferring pictures to my new blog, there were some photoshoots that I did not like.  But, only a couple.  I decided to start off with Shunya Yamashita’s design of Mirei-san.  This is one of my first few figures that I own, and still the best figure produced from Shunya’s illustrations.

Max Factory - Haruhi Suzumiya Gekisou Ver.

    May 4, 2009 // 12 Comments »

Why Max Factory? Why!?!?! Why must you release another Haruhi figure?!?! Now I broke my rule of not buying more than one figure of the same character.  Regardless, I had to buy it because of its uniqueness compared to all of the other Haruhis released.  I bet everyone is sick of seeing this figure, but I don’t care and here it is!

GoodSmile Co. - Ryogi Shiki 1/7

Right now I feel happy and sad at the same time. First off, I am happy that my preorder came from HobbyFan. Awhile back I thought it was canceled since they took the figure off their listing. Then I emailed them regarding the figure and it seems that they only received 30 of them. I thought it was canceled, but I was cool with it since I had a lot of preorders so I can at least save some money to pay for those. All of a sudden I was informed that it was shipped, and I was cool with that too.

Now let’s get with the sad part of my day. I had an awkward dream yesterday night. I dreamt that I received my figure and there were 2 things that were unusual, 1) no packing material; just a exterior box and the figure box itself, and 2) I looked through the figure box and it was bootlegged. Okay, that was an awkward dream.  So my package came today, and I opened the box. There was actually no packing material inside to prevent damage. Okay…. I took out my figure and omg, this is the worst condition figure I have ever received.  It can’t be from the mail because there were no chip or paint parts inside the box.

    Kaiyodo - Bome: Kiddy Grade

    // No Comments »

I saw this at Fantasy Box at FMP like couple months ago at 40% off of $45, which is about $30. I thought it was a steal, but I didn’t buy it. Kinda regret it afterward. Went back there recently and they still had. I think $30 for Kiddy Grade pack is a great deal since US retailers are selling it for $40uS?
