After Da Tong, the next stop was Wu Tai Shan.  Time for some mountain climbing!  I was still sick when I was here, and yet I was able to climb on the mountains.

Before arriving here, we came across this temple that was built alongside of a mountain.  I forgot the name.

The sky is so blue in this area.

You would assume that this small town is peaceful and quiet, but it is still a ruckus.  There will still be cars and buses honking at every little thing.

You will find many monks and temples in this area.

I jumped ahead, but while walking up to this mountain, there were A LOT of horse poop on the trail.

After that long hike up, there was the only thing to see up here.  I was quite disappointed.

Now, on to the next day.  There are 5 main mountains, hence the name 五台山, with temples on the top.  I only visited 1 as we didn’t have enough time.  I would also assume every temple looked the same.

There was a spiral path to walk up to the top of the mountain.  Instead, I just walked/climbed straight up.

Along the side of the path, you can find many stones that are stacked upon each other.  I made this one.

Upon arriving near the top, you can see many monks.   The monks stop and pray after a couple steps.

    Symbols of the First Sermon.

I was told that Wu Tai Shan was extremely cold, but it wasn’t that cold at all.   Perhaps the whole day went into hiking, so it didn’t feel cold.

Thanks. It was taken just for you as you wanted to see more “non-snapshots”.
