Luoyang (洛陽) – Longmen Grottoes (龍門石窟)

I don’t remember much of this city as we only stayed here for 1 night?  See, I don’t even remember how long I stayed here.

Another overnight train.   Luckily it was only overnight.  A lot of passengers were going to Guangzhou, and the ride there would take 34 hours!  By now I think my cold was getting better.

This was the line for the same train.

Longmen Grottoes costs 2x more and has 2x missing heads than Yungang Grottoes.  There are 4 main sights, however you are only allowed to enter once.  That is lame.

Unfortunately we were only able to see 3 of 4 sights.  Ran out of time.

Here is sight 1: Caves of the West Hill

This here is the main attraction of Longmen Grottoes.

Sight 2: The Caves of the East hill

This is the only picture that I took.  Nothing much in this area.

Sight 3: Xiangshan Temple

I do not have much to say about this city, but the next post will contain another city, and it is one of the worst cities I have visited.
