    Posted in: Taiwan, Vacation

Having no internet sucks.  I am behind by 1 day.

Speaking of technology, my camera is taking a beating during my vacation.  It is all scratched up and I can hear popping noise whenevever I squeezing my camera. But nothing is wrong interally.  I don’t remember if I mentioned this, but I bought a spare battery for my camera two weeks before my vacation. And, I only used it a couple times before I accidently left it in my pants for the washer.  I think I only had to change batteries twice.  Great use of $6.

I left for Fuzhong station where you can find Lin family mansion and garden.

Ok, as requested I took a picture of myself wearing a mask, but not on the subway.  I don’t see the point of this.  Is this a new kind of fetish?

Inside FuZhong station.  This looks pretty sick.

    090909 (3)

    Underground passage way.

    090909 (4)

Some statues while walking to the garden.

Entrance.  The admission to enter is a reciept of anything.  In Taiwan, a lottery number is printed on reciepts and there will be drawings.

Lin family mansion and garden is one of the few buildings that you can find that was constructed in Qing Dynasty. Even as of today, it is still nicely preserved.

Instead of barbwires, there are glass on top of the walls surrounding the mansion/garden.

Guess what is so special about my pictures for this day?  All of them are taken by me!

    090909 (15)

This one was the hardest.  It was a long run through low ceilings and awkward stairs.  Made it just in time.

Next up was Shilin Officail Residence.

    090909 (23)090909 (24)090909 (25)

This path up leads to Ci Yun Pavillion.  From the looks of it, it seems very high, so I thought it would give me a nice aerial view of the garden.

    090909 (27)

This pavillion is OVERRATED considering the LONG walk up.  Once you get up, you assume you can get a good view of the garden, but you can’t see anything from the trees surrounding the pavillion.

    Below is their Western garden.

    Below is their Chinese garden.

Shilin Officail Residence was pretty nice.  I am getting bored of gardens now.  I have visited a lot in Japan, and it is time for a rest on gardens.

    090909 (41)

I think this is the mansion.

    090909 (44)090909 (45)

I went back to Danshui because I didn’t have enough time during the first visit to go on the ferry.  I forgot the name of the island.

    090909 (50)090909 (51)090909 (52)090909 (53)090909 (54)

The wind here is extremely strong.  But it did give a nice breeze while walking.

    090909 (55)090909 (56)090909 (57)

There are a lot of stray dogs.  The white dog here is so sad.  There are patches of no hair.
When the dogs joined up to find food, one dog was biting the white dog :(

But to erase all those sad memories…

    Heading back during rush hour.
