UFC 94 Press Conference Toronto

I didn’t even know about this event until my friend told me. We were hyped to go but he caught a cold the day before and couldn’t make it.  Ended up finding another friend to tag along with me.

I only had 2-3hrs of sleep at most yesterday, and I had to wake up at 6am. Got there at 8:20. Didn’t get in until 9:20. It was friggen COLD! The line wasn’t as long as I expected. The press conference started at 10. They were showing highlights of previous fights from GSP and BJ Penn.

Overall, there was not a lot of people. The theatre was almsot packed. So, I’m assuming thats like 400-500 seating capacity?

Dana White is a cool guy despite what people said about him. Dana on Kimbo Slice: He sucks shit. Someday Kimbo will show up in one of these events and shoot me.

BJ Penn is pretty funny. An audience asked about his opinion on Kenny Florian. BJ’s answer sounded like he doesn’t give a shit: you can check that on my website, bjpenn.com.

Probably the only BJ Penn nuthugger in the press conference said, GSP, which hospital will you be staying after the fight so I can send you flowers, and BJ, which bar will you be at so I can buy you a beer. One audience yelled out to the nuthugger: which hospital do YOU want to stay at?

A 7 year old kid was like, Can I train with you guys? Dana said, Yes you can, you are bigger than BJ! Heck, you are even taller than him. You can already start work!

Okay, as you can see a lot of my shots are grainy or blurry or faded. The graininess came from the high ISO setting I used for the dark. The blurriness came from turning off the flash. The fading images came from using the flash which turned out pretty dark and adjusted with photoshop.

The autograph session took forever. It took like 2 hours till it was my turn. People were cutting in and lots of swearing was going on.

Dana is a cool guy. He shook hands with everyone.

I kinda pissed off BJ Penn. As we were near the end, they were getting impatient and it took me some time to help take a picture for my friend. BJ was like, c’mon you should have taken the picture already!

Both BJ and GSP looks pissed in my pictures. Not fair! My friend had a cooler pose with both fighters, that’s because I took his pictures for him!

Some free goodies you get, a T-shirt and 1 autograph per person. You could have used anything. I WOULD have used my GSP shirt if it was new and had the tags on.

Maybe I should have gotten GSP and BJ to sign the same shirt…oh well.

Autographs

It was a pretty fun conference. Only crappy thing was the LONG wait for autographs. I got back to school a couple minutes late (doesn’t matter) and fell asleep in my class. I bet my friend who missed out is jealous

A lot happened, but can’t think at the top of my head right now as I am dead tired. To finish off with my post, WAR GSP!!!!
