I figured that it was time to upgrade my 40GB HDD to one with a larger capacity.  Bought myself a Western Digital 320GB 5400RPM as the replacement.

Before I took it out, I lastly synced my trophies to the server and backed up my system.

I have been posting quite slowly now because I have been trying to obtain all the trophies for Uncharted 2.  And guess what?  I have acquired my PLATINUM!!! Oh baby! My first platinum.   I feel like going back to all my games and start collecting trophies.  This has to impress the chicks.

“Hey sexy, I an involved in a variety of extracurricular activities.  Want to see my trophies?” *shows my awesome virtual PS3 trophies*

*starts flexing* “Yeah, see that platinum right there?”

Another figure I bought in Japan.  I regret not buying the whole Kotobukiya’s Galaxy Angel set, and I regret a lot of other stuff too.  I only bought Vanilla H. just because she holds Normad.   I want a Normad plushie now.

  • Uncharted 2

EB Games is currently having a deal where you trade in 2 games and get a $59.99 game for $9.99, 64.99 for 14.99, and 69.99 for 19.99.  However, you must trade in a game with a tiv of at least $8.

Yesterday I picked up a copy of Uncharted 2.  I rarely trade in my games since I enjoy them and want to maintain a “collection”, but I traded in Uncharted and Gran Turismo 5 Prologue.  These games had a tiv of $8 and $9.  In addition, I got rid of all my ugly red cases.  Uncharted 1 was good, but not a game I would play again.  As for GT5P, I had to get rid of that game quick because the full version game is coming out in Feb.  The more I wait, the lower the tiv, and the harder to sell in classifieds.

Also, I actually saved money for once from trading in games!

Back in the day, I bought Uncharted for $22.5, and GT5P for $25 (actually I only paid $5 along a free game I had).

    Total = 47.5

    I had to pay $9.99 + tax = $11.29 for Uncharted 2.  Retail value is 59.99 + tax = 67.79

    So, I saved 67.79-11.29-47.5= $8.99!!!!

I finished Uncharted 2 today.  AMAZING game with beautiful visuals.  I just have a problem with the monsters because I hated them in the first and this time they are much harder to kill.   Humm, maybe I should buy Uncharted 1 to complete the collection.  Buying it back won’t be a problem because the value I gained from trading in is more than buying it again.

It has been quite awhile since my last photoshoot.  I am going to start off with the cheapest PVC figure that I bought during my vacation, Kotobukiya’s Flonne.

The price I paid for this figure in Japan, 1000 yen.  However, it was second hand, then again, 1000yen (~$12CDN)!  Surprisingly I was hesitant and decided to think about it overnight.  You are hearing this from a guy who constantly blew out 2000yen for a single trip to a maid cafe.  What can you get for $12 here in Canada?  1 trading figure…  Wait, perhaps not because of tax.  Oh how I miss the days in Asia with no tax and tips.

This package arrived to my house extremely fast.  I used SAL and from the other side of the world, it only took 5 days.  Usually it takes about 2 weeks for SAL.  My package arrived a couple weeks late because I paid for my item by paypal and they had it on hold for inspection.  Then after 2 weeks, I called paypal and they cleared it immediately.

Just as I expected, the box is huge.  The item was labeled as “resin kit” with a declared value of $20.  LOL. Then this is one HUGE kit.

This post you will find the video that I very well think made China delete my posts.  Now isn’t that an opener.

This will be my last vacation post and I will try to end it with a bang.  Afterward,  I will revert back to my otakuself.

For the last 3 days in China, I went back and forth from ShenZhen to Hong Kong.  Everyday, I spent 4 hours traveling.  2 hours for one way trip.

    - 50mins to to the train station in ShenZhen

    - 20mins running across the customs and border

    - a good 50mins to get to the center of Hong Kong

With one day left in Chengdu, we took a detour to another city close by; about an hour bus ride.  This city is higher in altitude and more colder.   While I was on the bus and looking out the window, everyone wore clothes suitable for autumn.   As usual, I am the only guy wearing tshirt, shorts, and sandals.

Funny how at the beginning of my vacation I underestimated the number of clothes I should have brought on my vacation.   For a 10 day trip in Japan, I had to wash my clothes 2 times.   And then for this mini-trip in China, I again didn’t bring enough clothes, plus a pair of shoes.   It was definitely a pain in the ass to wash my clothes every 3-4 days.   Luckily Chengdu was the last city before heading back to ShenZhen.
